About.

Artist statement

My work explores the emotional and sensory terrain of memory and place through abstraction. I’m drawn to spaces that feel familiar yet unplaceable — like fragments of a dream or the trace of a memory. My practice is deeply process-driven and guided by intuition, allowing impulsivity and emotion to shape the work. I embrace the rhythm of letting paint behave naturally and the challenge of responding in turn — a process I liken to solving a puzzle.

Each painting emerges unplanned, beginning with thin, translucent washes of acrylic and Flashe, then built up through heavier applications of oil paint and oil stick. I want my paintings to feel illuminated from within — like passageways into an emotional experience. The resulting compositions are often suggestive of landscapes or interiors, but remain deliberately ambiguous, suspended between recognition and feeling.
